Apple, at Q3 financial earnings report yesterday, announced that another 20 countries will be getting the iPhone on August 22nd.
This coincides with early rumors reported by MacRyu that the iPhone will come to Singapore in August, instead of the widely reported September release date.
Singtel has yet to release any news, but we will report as soon as we get more news.
Updates:
Apple has changed the SG Apple site’s iPhone page from a “coming soon” status to a “how to get ready” page that was similarly shown on the first 22 countries before their launch this month. Coupled with the recent announcement that the iPhone will debut in another 20 countries by 22nd August, this looks like the confirmation that we are getting.
PS: We also do have reports we received from an old source who said that they are now setting the exact date at Singtel and the official confirmation should come soon.
Update: Reuters has put out news that Singtel is indeed putting out the iPhone in Singapore in August. This goes to show that the news you get from blogs such as MacRyu are way way way way way more accurate than crap put out by the so-called “mass media” such as Digital Life and Mediacorp News.
This is definitely a big win for new media in Singapore.
